SUMMARY:The Early Dells in Living Color by SCHS Executive Director Paul Wolter
DESCRIPTION:The Wisconsin Dells area is one of the most photographed areas of the state. The advent of tourism in the area in the 1850's was followed soon after with the advent of modern photography which in turn helped promote the area. Until color photography came along\, however\, promoters and viewers alike had to live with the limitations of black and white images. If early photographers had had color technology\, the alure of their work would have had even greater effect. While modern picture colorization has been around for more than a few years\, new technology has made the process faster\, easier and more realistic. \n\n\n\nA presentation on the early history of the area showing color enhanced images will be given on Thursday\, August 27th\, at 7 PM at the Frank Fischer Center in Lake Delton during a presentation by Sauk County Historical Society Executive Director Paul Wolter. \n\n\n\nTo learn more: Call 608-356-1001 or visit www.saukcountyhistory.org
