DESCRIPTION:Wisconsin history is front-and-center today. We'll begin with an Estate Tour of Ten Chimneys in Genesee Depot. Ten Chimneys was built in the early 1900's by Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne who are widely considered the greatest acting team in the history of American theatre. The elegant three-story Main House has six chimneys and eighteen rooms\, the quaint country Cottage has three chimneys and five main rooms and the one-room Swedish-style log cabin Studio has one chimney. The 60-acre estate also includes a charming pool and pool house\, a creamery\, a greenhouse\, barns\, stables\, and other bucolic outbuildings. The estate is filled with remarkable collections of original furnishings\, art\, and artifacts chosen more about theatricality and whimsy than opulence.\n\n\n\nNext we travel a short distance to Old World Wisconsin. Upon arrival we'll enjoy lunch at the Clausing Barn Cafe following by ample time to explore this state treasure. Old World Wisconsin includes 60 beautifully restored historic structures on over 600 acres of picturesque landscape. As you travel through time from the 1840s to the 1910s\, you will find historic spaces to explore\, gardens and trails to wander through\, and costumed staff ready to help you get hands-on with history. A tram runs continuously to assist you in exploring the grounds.
