SUMMARY:Soldiers & Refuge Tour with Able Trek Tours
DESCRIPTION:Able Trek Tours still have seats available for the Soldiers & Refuge Tour which will include three destinations that Wisconsinites can be very proud of. Our first stop will be at the Wisconsin National Guard Museum at Volk Field near Camp Douglas. This Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of the men and women of the Wisconsin National Guard. A short drive north will bring us to Fort McCoy\, the home to the 84th Training Command\, the 88th Regional Support Command and Wisconsin National Guard Military Academy. Situated on over 60\,000 acres\, Fort McCoy's primary responsibility is providing quality training facilities for reserve and active-component military forces. Its population consists of 1\,300 military and 2\,800 civilians. We'll enjoy a guided tour including WWII Museums\, a History Center\, equipment Park and Memorial Plaza. A lunch buffet served at McCoy's Community club is included. Our last stop will be a Wisconsin treasure that you've likely heard of but never visited--the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1939 and consisting of 44\,000 acres\, the Refuge is prime habitat for birding and wildlife watching. Our relaxing visit allows time to explore the incredible Visitors Center\, take an optional short hike and/or just sit and watch the birds. We'll also welcome a Naturalist Guide for a driving tour of the Refuge. Moderate walking with managing a few steps. Bring your photo ID/driver's license for entry to Fort McCoy. Bus departs from the Reedsburg Family Restaurant Parking Lot\, 1599 E Main St\, Reedsburg. \n\n\n\nCall (800) 205-6713 or (608) 524-3021 or email: staff@abletrektours.com.
